WeAreElopers is Justyna (takes pictures) and Sean (makes films).
Sean started as a junior photographer in newspapers and continued to shoot editorial work for several years which took him to some amazing places all over the world. Since he shot his first elopement in Glencoe in 2006 he photographed weddings and elopements all over Scotland and UK.
He’s had a deep connection to the Scottish hills since his grandfather introduced him to the mountain walking at age of five. Sean’s been in a band and still is a keen musician. When he got over the rebellion of youth got on a mountain bike, run marathons and started rock climbing. And that all when still very dedicated to his photography.
Justyna is polish. Moved to Scotland when got bored with her teaching job and needed a change. With a postgraduate degree in professional photography began working as a wedding photographer pretty much right out of uni. She didn’t really know what she was getting into but knew it was going to be an adventure. It was ten years ago.
She fills her time climbing at a local wall (when wet), climbing rocks (when dry) and watching climbing movies (when it’s a rest day). She also cooks, makes hand made things and reads.
We live outside Edinburgh with our dog Molly. We met through mutual passion for climbing and that’s pretty much what we live for. But seriously, we also love hiking, camping, going on gigs and long walks with our dog Molly. We live quietly and try our best to be environmentally friendly and sustainable. We’d rather do things than have things.
Together we shot over 400 weddings and elopements and love being part of them equally.
To us it doesn’t matter where two people in love are getting married, what they want to do, where to go.. as long as they are happy together, want remember feelings and just be themselves.
